The weather here in Missouri for the last few weeks has been that of extremes...after a relatively dry winter, we had torrents of rain. Some nights have been frigid...perfect for seeds that need a blast of cold air to get them ready to sprout...but daytime temperatures have skyrocketed into the low 80's. My winter sown seedlings, tucked into their cozy milk jugs, have apparently received the "go" signal from nature's mysterious voice, and have all sprouted.  Read about their…

As a little girl, I was a creative sort. While some children incessantly ask "Why?", I was instead asking, "Mom, what can I MAKE?" By third grade I was sewing clothes, by high school I added painting to my crafting repertoire. My college dorm walls were covered with my paintings and my desk provided a spot for my sewing machine right along with my textbooks. As a young bride (in a handmade wedding gown, of course!) and career woman, I had my own home that was my new canvas for…

Since the materials are doing the "heavy lifting" by providing ready-made beauty, quality does matter. So where do you find high quality…

I was 30 years old with 4 young children and I didn't have the energy to climb up the stairs. Really. I had to CRAWL up the stairs to my bedroom...and it happened overnight. After exams and tests and spending a disgusting amount of money on my health, I was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue/Fibromyalgia. The next couple of years were spent rebuilding my health, which for me, meant cleaning up my diet, learning to manage stress, and trying to eliminate toxins from my environment. It was…
